Our Statement of Beliefs

Every church needs to be clear on the foundational doctrines of their faith.  This is contained in our Statement of Beliefs which states clearly what we believe.

What we believe at Life Links Church is set out below.

The Scriptures

The Scriptures (Old and New Testaments), as originally penned, are the divinely inspired Word of God and the final authority in all matters of faith and doctrine. 2 Tim 3:16-17

The Trinity

God the Creator is one, yet expressed in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matt 28:19-20 Jn 1:1-3

Sin

Humanity is inherently sinful as a result of the Fall and in need of salvation. Rom 3:23

The virgin birth

Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life on earth. Lk 1:27,31 Heb 4:15

Jesus’ death and resurrection

Jesus Christ’s death was substitutionary for sinners, and after He was buried He was resurrected in the same body by God’s power, and ascended into heaven. Rom 5:8; 6:4 Lk 24:51

Salvation

Salvation is received by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross without the aid of human works, good works being evidence of the indwelling of Christ. Eph 2:8-10

Water baptism

All believers should follow the Lord in obedience to His command to be baptised in water through total immersion. Matt 28:19-20

Communion

The Lord’s Supper should be regularly observed by believers. Lk 22:19-20

The Holy Spirit

The work of the Holy Spirit and His gifts is ongoing and relevant to today. 1 Cor 12:4-11

The 5-Fold Ministry Gifts

The ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are relevant to today. Eph 4:11-12

Jesus’ second coming

Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to this earth at an undisclosed future date. Jn 14:3 Acts 1:11 1 Cor 15:12-14 1 Thess 4:16

Resurrection and judgment

There will be a resurrection of the dead for all and a final judgment resulting in heaven for the righteous, and the lake of fire for the unrighteous, both of which are eternal. Jn 5:25-29 Rev 20:14-15

Satan and demons

Satan is a real being, as are demons. He and his minions have been totally defeated by the Blood of Christ. Col 2:15 Rev 12:9
