Life Links Church | Emergency Relief

Headed by Alli Llewellyn, Emergency Relief is a ministry of the Life Links Church to the community of Ararat. Churches take it in turn to provide this service and so it is available at our church every five weeks. On that week it is open at the church building Monday to Friday from 1pm to 2pm.

Those eligible to receive help are recipients of a pension or unemployment benefit. Apart from that, there are no restrictions based on age, race or creed. Food is provided as well as a groceries' voucher for fresh food (It cannot be used to purchase cigarettes, alcohol, etc.) Under certain circumstances, a petrol voucher may be provided.

Manned by volunteers, the supportive staff are also willing to lend an ear to those who simply need someone to talk to and when appropriate, they may refer clients on to other people in the church who can offer further support.

Availability dates for Ararat Church of Christ Emergency Relief can be found on our Church Calendar.

Shower/Laundry Facility

Aimed at helping the homeless or socially disadvantaged, we have installed a shower and laundry facility on our premises which is free for these people to use. There is a washer, dryer, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, shower and all towels and toiletries provided.

Our hope is to provide people with dignity and opportunities for hygiene and self-care.

All it takes is a phone call Monday to Friday to arrange an appointment. Call 0438 975 691 for help.

Services Overview

Our services begin at 10 am each Sunday and all are welcome. Primary school children are invited to stay in the main service as we worship and then leave to participate in the Discovery (Sunday School) program.

  • All Discovery leaders have a current Working With Children Card.
